Agro Tourism is when a native person or local of the area offers tours to their Agriculture project to allow a person to view them growing, harvesting, and processing locally grown foods, such as coconuts, pineapple, sugar cane, corn, or any produce the person would not encounter in their home country. Often the farmers would provide a home-stay opportunity and education.
The essential benefit is for the local people, not tour operators or hotels.
People need to earn money to live and support their family, but often this is at the cost of the environment and the planet. Agro Tourism and Eco-tourism are alternatives to such harmful practices as slash and burn farming, dynamite fishing, destruction of rain forest or primary growth jungle and trees.

TEN YEARS IN TRANSYLVANIA - TIZ ESZTENDO ERDELYBEN A well travelled photographer originally from New York, Stephen Spinder has photographed the Gothic spires and Neo-Classic facades of Budapest since 1994. His collections have become well received in the international business/diplomatic community. These limited edition prints are captured in color and elegant black and white, - the latter are sepia-toned to render the 'feel' of the city's 'Golden Age'... he is also noted for his sensitive images of Hungarian folk culture in Transylvania.
He has been photographing in Central Europe since 1991 - his first contact with the rich folk culture of Transylvania. His commissioned work includes the Hungarian Ministry of Culture, Budapest Tourism Office, Ambassadors, AmCham, American Embassy, as well as numerous individuals. As a photo journalist he works for publications throughout the region.
As a professional I have recently published two books of my photographs - 'Budapest Through My Lens', in black and white and 'Ten Years In Transylvania' in color. Both are published in Budapest.
They have been very well received in Budapest and United States, leading to recognition in Washington DC. by Andras Simonyi, Hungarian Ambassador to US, and the generous support from the Hungarian Cultural Ministry for the publication of my Transylvania book and with this exhibition.
